May 5th is Children's Day in Korea. Parents usually plan the day arond their children. They take them out to popular places like zoos or amusement parks. There are large crowds near these places. There is a lot of traffic because many families are on the move. You might be stuck in traffic or in line for a long time. Nowadays, many parents take their kids to see children's plays or musicals.Children typically receive gifts from their parents or grandparents. All in all, it's a special day children look forward to. Almost everyone has special Children's Day memories from their childhood. 

 

한국에서 5월 5일은 어린이날입니다. 이날 부모님들은 보통 아이들 중심으로 하루 계획을 세웁니다. 부모님들은 아이들과 함께 동물원이나 놀이공원과 같은 인기 있는 장소로 나들이를 갑니다. 이날 이런 장소 주변에는 인파가 몰립니다. 그리고 이동하는 가족들이 많이 때문에 교통이 막힙니다. 그래서 교통 정체에 발이 묶이거나, 한참 줄을 서서 기다리기도 합니다. 요즘에는 어린이 연극이나 뮤지컬에 자녀를 데려가는 부모들도 많습니다. 또 아이들은 부모님이나 할아버지 할머니로부터 선물을 받기도 합니다. 전반적으로 어린이날은 아이들이 기대하는 특별한 날입니다. 대부분의 사람들이 어릴 적 어린이날에 대한 특별한 추억을 가지고 있습니다.

A : Are we taking our children out to the amusement park? 

B : I've had a change of heart. Let's take them to the museum. 

A : Don't you think they would like the amusement park better? 

B : But the museum is more educational. 

 

A : 애들 놀이공원에 데려가는 거지? 

B : 마음이 바뀌었어. 박물관에 데려가자. 

A : 애들이 놀이공원을 더 좋아할 것 같지 않아? 

B : 박물관이 더 교육적이잖아.
