College campusses in Korea are extra lively in May. It's not because students are busy with their classes. Many universities take advantage of the warm weather and hold school festivals. They normally run for several days. Students are busy preparing for the festivities days beforehand. Students participate through their departments or clubs. Some participate in displays or talent shows. Some students run cafes or food booths to raise money. Some schools hold large-scale concerts where popular singers come to perform. These festivals are a great opportunity to have fun and bond with classmates. They are memorable events that people remember from their college years.
5월의 대학 캠퍼스는 평소보다 활기가 넘칩니다. 학생들이 수업 때문에 바쁘다는 이유만은 아닙니다. 한국의 대학들은 대부분 날씨가 따뜻한 5월에 축제를 여는데, 이러한 축제들은 며칠간 계속됩니다. 학생들은 축제가 열리기 며칠 전부터 축제 준비로 바쁩니다. 학생들은 소속 학과나 동아리를 통해 축제에 참여합니다. 전시회나 장기 자랑에 참가하는 학생들도 있습니다. 그리고 기금 마련을 위해 일일 까페나 음식을 파는 가판대를 운영하는 학생들도 있습니다. 어떤 학교에서는 유명한 가수들을 초대해 대규모 콘서트를 열기도 합니다. 대학교축제는 학우들과 함께 즐거운 시간을 보내고 우정도 쌓을 수 있는 좋은 기회입니다. 대학교 축제는 학창 시절을 돌이켜 봤을 때 기억에 남는 행사입니다.
